3Ds Max Design: Lighting Analysis, Part 3: General Panel The general panel is for managing Mental Ray MR settings. Under Analysis and Rendering precision, a list of all MR settings is displayed and there is an Edit button as a shortcut to Rendering Setup dialogue if you need to check or tweak any value. Below the list, there is a button for loading valid render presets. You may choose any of the presets with names starts with Mental Ray. At the bottom, there is a Render Now button for executing rendering process. Analysis Value Color Coding controls the colors range for the image overlay. In Scale list choose the default value Linear or if the targeted surfaces are relatively dim, choose the Logarithmic scale. The Min and Max represent the colors of the image overlay; to the left end of the strip is the color of the lower value and the high values to the right end.
