3H and 3J, under the guidance of Mrs Erga, have filled 3 shoeboxes - TopicsExpress

3H and 3J, under the guidance of Mrs Erga, have filled 3 shoeboxes which will be sent to less fortunate children around the world through Operation Christmas Child run by Samaritans Purse. The students filled the boxes with something to WEAR, something to LOVE, something to PLAY WITH and something with which to DRAW or COLOUR, including notebooks and pencils, as the students learned that some children cannot go to school unless they have their own supplies. They also discovered that some children will rub out all the work in their only book so they can reuse it, because they want to keep going to school. The students also put in personal items like soap, toothbrushes and face washers. Some families will only have one toothbrush so they all share. We are very privileged here in Australia and the students are learning the importance of sharing our gifts with those less fortunate. A limited number of boxes are still available from the school and we would like to remind those who have already taken a box to return it to the school by Friday 12th September so they can be organised for shipment overseas. Thank you to those families who have returned boxes, and for the SCAS communitys continued support of this worthwhile cause.
