3PM NEWS UPDATE WITH Orange The High Court in Kampala has sentenced four men to 65 years each in jail over aggravated rape and robbery. These include Nicholas Kyamani, 26, Ibrahim Mubiru, 24, Paul Isabirye 18 and Jeremiah Kijjambu, 29, who were each sentenced to 35 years for rape and 30 years for robbery. While delivering his judgment, the trial judge, Albert Atwoki, said he had considered the evidence of both the State and defense and found them guilty of the offences. However, the defense lawyer Yunusu Kasirivu prayed for a lighter sentence saying the convicts are first time offenders and were remorseful. Court heard that on the fateful day at around midnight, the convicts broke into the complainants house with a gun, knives and raped a woman, vandalized her vehicle before making off with household items and sh800, 000 Police in Luweero has sealed off Kasana market ahead of Democratic Party’s woman MP candidate Brenda nabukenya’s rally. This will be the last campaign before the electorate cast their ballots tomorrow for their favorite candidate. Stiff competition is between DP’S Brenda Nabukenya and NRMs Rebecca Nalwanga. An ill Arab woman went to a hypnotist for treatment in Kuwait but was shocked when she found that he was about to rape her just seconds after she woke up. The woman told police that she was told about the Arab hypnotist by a friend and went to his apartment for treatment. The would-be rapist was summoned by the police for interrogation.
