There are reports of road blocks at various places and there are long traffic jams near before Srinagar, Rudraprayag and Chamoli. Yatra has been totally stopped till further orders. Sangat who are struck at Rishikesh and Srinagar are being asked to go back. Others struck at various points are being evacuated to bring back at safety points. State Disaster Management, Army and local Admin are alert and trying their best to help all. Army, ITBP and local Admin have been doing great work. They have rescued all people from Govind Ghat and shifted to Joshimath. Even people from Govind Dham being brought down to Govind Ghat and later to be shifted. It is still raining heavily and water level has gone up. Condition is still not under control. First priority is to help people. Repairs and maintenance work can only be accessed when weather improves. Please do not clog the Helplines as many people are waiting to know well-being of their their close ones. There is no improvement in the conditions. All major routes are broken/closed. Even the bridges before Govind Dham and after Govind Dham (towards Hemkund Sahib) have been broken. It is still raining heavily and continuously and it will take longer time to restart the yatra. Please cancel all the programs till further notice. We are sorry to get the news of deaths of 7 Pilgrims from Rampura Phul Village of Bhatinda near Joshimath on June 11 .. we pray to Waheguru to bless their souls and give strength to their families to bear the loss. News as per Tribune Newspaper : 7 of Rampura Phul killed on way to Hemkund Sahib : Seven persons of Rampura Phul and surrounding villages died on way to Hemkund Sahib near Joshimath when the car they were travelling in fell into the Ganga on June 11, 2013. Two other persons from the area were injured while one is missing. The deceased belonged to different families and were part of a large group on pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib. Those killed were Prabhjot Singh (18) of Rampura, car driver Gurmukh Singh (25) of Mandi Kalan, Ajaib Singh (55), Shingara Singh (60) of Himmatpura, Angrej Singh (26) of Rampura Phul, and Inderpreet Singh (28) of Bhucho Kalan. Lakhbir Singh of Pitho village is still missing. As it is raining continuously & heavily, roads have been blocked, Local Govt Admin has asked people not to go beyond Rishikesh as thousands of people and transport are struck at various points.
