3ds Max Design. Lighting Analysis, Part 7: Image Overlay Image Overlay is the lighting levels printed over the rendered image as colors and values.. The image is color coded according to the settings you chose on the general panel, blue for low values, yellow to orange for intermediate and white for high values. When you render, an extra frame with only colors is produce as a byproduct with no consequence. The main analysis overlay contains values and colors. It is preferable to render light meter values separately; otherwise the final result will be hard to read.
