3rd December, 2014 - Bani & Bilawar Developmental Activities,Double Shift, Work Culture & Transparent Governance Will be Revived : Azad NDA Govt a U-Turn Government: Ambika Asserting that all the elements of Congress-led governance like massive developmental activities, double shift/triple shift, work culture, transparency, accountability, etc will be revived in the State, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha & Former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad called upon the people of the State to give a decisive and convincing mandate in favour of Congress Party. Ghulam Nabi Azad said that Congress-led Government from 2006-08 scripted a new chapter of good governance and development in the State of Jammu &Kashmir notwithstanding the fact that certain regressive and anti-development forces covertly played a sinister game to scuttle the agenda of good governance and development. He urged the people to support the Congress Party and his efforts to recommence the process of fast-track and all-round development of all the three regions of the State with a focus on remote and backward areas like Bani, Billawar, Dudu basantgarh, Gool Arnas, Bhamag, Gool, Gulabgarh, Rajouri Poonch, Doda, Ramban, etc. Ghulam Nabi Azad was speaking in Bani & Billawar constituencies of Kathua District. Smt Ambika Soni, AICC general Secretary also spoke on the occasion. Congress Candidates, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Mr Rajnesh Sharma were also present besides other senior leaders, prominent citizens, Congress Workers, sarpanches and panches. Urging the people to compare the two and half years of Congress-led Government with the rule of all other political parties of the State, Azad said he is seeking a decisive mandate from the people of the State on the basis of proven track record and promise of good governance. He said that if people will repose trust in the Congress Party, massive developmental activities will be resumed in the entire State with special focus on roads, drinking water, power generation, tourism, rural infrastructure, schools, colleges, skill development, job creation, etc to of speed up the journey of State on the path of prosperity and progress. Azad said that Congress Party successfully gave a new paradigm of governance and fast-track development to J&K, which was based on equity and justice to all regions and sections. “Two and a half years time is not a long period of time to usher in a transformation, but Congress-led Government demonstrated its will, ability and determination to serve all the regions and sections of the State and strive to achieve progress and prosperity”, said Azad. Hitting out at the divisive and exploitative forces, Azad said that people are aware how the remote and backward areas, like Bani, Basohli and Billawar were used as vote- banks for almost sixty years by certain parties and it is only Congress Party which made sincere beginning to initiate development activities. Cautioning the people not to fall prey to the divisive machinations of political parties, Azad asked how development can be achieved by creating tensions and fissures in the society, adding that it is Congress Party alone which can accommodate and satiate the urges and aspirations of all sections and regions of the Sate. Without naming any Party, Azad said that there are certain political parties which have perfected the art of speaking in different voices at different places as they spoke in a different voice in Kashmir Valley and it is quite likely that they will change their tone once Jammu, Kathua and Samba go in for elections. “I would like to tell such parties that the people have take note of their different languages and that they cannot make fool of them for all times to come”, said Azad He said that people will are going to a befitting reply to such parties who want to play with the sentiments of the people they can go to gain power”, said Azad. Azad said that Congress Party has been the real well-wisher of all the regions and sub-regions of the State as it made a meaningful and serious attempt to ensure equitable distribution of resources during its brief tenure of two and a half years, and that the Finance Commission was also constituted to look into the issue of disparities which unfortunately NC-led Government never took seriously. People of Jammu have to make a choice between those who sold their votes for MLC elections and the one which successfully tried to initiate developmental activities in Jammu and other regions of the state. “I do not say that everything was achieved in two and a half years, but I can say with full conviction that it is Congress Party which has demonstrated intentions, will and ability to develop all the regions of the State”, said Azad. Azad said that inspite of the best efforts of the divisive forces to mislead the people fo the State, Congress Party has received tremendous support of the people in the first two phases of elections and that this trend is going to replicate in all the forthcoming rounds as the people of the State have made up their mind to revive the glorious era of 2006-08 in Jammu & Kashmir. He further said that those who are afraid of the popularity of Congress-led regime in J&K actually attempt all sorts of malicious tricks to mislead the people of J&K in order to wean them away from Congress Party, adding that their vain bids to discredit and distort the revolutionary accomplishments and measures of the Congress-led Government in J&K will not curry favour with the wise electorate of J&K State. Calling the NDA Government a ‘U-Turn Sarkar’, Ambika Soni said that NDA Governmant not only has failed to fulfil its electoral promises, but has let down the people of the country by taking U-Turns on all the issues which it was vociferously raising in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections. Ambikla Soni said that every individual of the country was eager to receive Rs 15 lacs in his/her account within 100 days of the NDA Government but surprisingly, now Prime Minister says he does not know how much black money is stashed in the foreign banks. Lashing out the NDA Government for failing to stop the ceasefire violations on the International border, Ambika Soni said “where have the tall claims of prime Minister gone?” Ambika said that more than three hundred ceasefire violations, including the war-like shelling of August , 2014, have taken place since the NDA government has assumed charge, inspite of the fact that our Prime Minister used to flaunt “56-inch chest” as also make big claims. “Day in and day out, our jawans are getting killed, our civilians are falling to the bullets of terrorists, Maoists attacks on security forces have increased and NDA government is maintaining silence”, said Soni. She asked why the Prime Minister, who used to sermonize on frivolous and petty issues before coming to power, is maintaining a silence on the frequent killing of our security jawans. Questioning the BJP Governments seriousness and intent to tackle terrorist violence, Ambika Soni said that how long this Govt will succeed to mislead the public while terrorist attacks have shown unprecedented spurt across the country, including the Maoist infested areas. Both the senior leaders appealed to the wise and farsighted electorate of the State to give a decisive mandate to the Congress Party as it alone can fulfil the developmental needs and regional aspirations of the State because of its pan-Jammu & Kashmir presence.
