3rd track in 5 days which I should have done yesterday but I forgot. Although, if Im ever so slightly hungover from yesterdays drinkies, does that mean that somehow its stil yesterday? .... no, ok. Well ill have to do two today. Todays slice of awesomeness is this track from Genesis. Driving The Last Spike. https://youtube/watch?v=vHGqGmzzQaY I could pick so many Genesis tracks as theyre my all time favourite band, but I choose this one for all those who have a go at Phil Colins. So many champion the Gabriel era and slag off Phil for somehow recking Genesis. Let it not be forgotten that Phil saved the band, and we got Trick, Wind and Wothering and Then there were 3 and if anybody tries to tell me those albums are not awesome then they possibly need a shrink. Lol. But the point Im trying to make is that Tony and Mike wrote more than their fair share of the pop s--t that people blame Phil for. After all, Follow You Follow Me is the most sing alongy pop track and their first big hit, and Rutherford wrote that at least 2 years before Phil had his first solo album. So this track is from the last Phil Genesis album (another awesome album btw) which I think Im right in saying Phil penned most of the lyrics for. Its a great song full of emotion, and proves once and for all that Genesis never lost their prog. If youre stil reading this and conscious, I hope you enjoy. :)
