3years ago while still a BAC student,a case concerning the accreditation of a course called Contact Centre Management(CCM) was brought before the office of the President. All parties involved,the then TEC,DTEF,BAC Management logged heads delaying students progress. The then SRC,led by Cde Lame Segokgo then assisted in the establishment of CCM student reps in the talks of which a conclusion was reached that CCM students should enroll for any course they so wish and CCM banned from BAC. A year later,the CCM issue had not yet been resolved even after such a decision was made. As part of the BAC SRC mandate we questioned the BAC management regarding the matter,in which a lame excuse was given that CCM was a vocational course,really now?efforts to source for more information were held at ransom as the BAC management threaten to take legal action again some of us who were considered rowdy and destructive to its reputation. The minister of Education,Pelenomi Venson Moitoi was also mentioned to inflict fear on us,including efforts to hold us at their command by sighting a need to amend the SRC constitution in their favour. 4years along the line Hotwire,a company belonging to Moitois Son,one Mr Benn undertook the rebranding of the institutions from Botswana Accountancy College to Botswana Business School of which to date hasnt happen. Do note that Moitoi is one of the major shareholders at BAC and also that Hotwire has won multi-million tenders through the ministry of education for the past 5years. In such regards i find it to be nothing shocking that she found it fit to not endorse the issue of forming a task force that will look into the accreditation of tertiary institutions.
