4:45 am in Prague. All is quiet as the city gears up for day 2 of the World Yo-Yo Contest. Most of the pros among us went to bed early. They ate their vegetables, drank their orange juice, and braved hours-long practice sessions nailing down their routines in the practice room. The rabble rousers among us stayed up all night at the Contest After-Party. Bleary eyes European rock star walking among us, hoping to make finals on sheer grit, determination, raw skill, and maybe a little luck. Day 2 of the World Yo-Yo Contest is perhaps the most stressful. The 1A semi-final round, players are halfway from home, but only halfway to finals. They are no longer amateurs, but are not yet heroes. Day 2 is a big day for Duncan: Brand new team member Zac Rubino takes the stage today. Impressively edging out a body of competitors comprised of many past world champions, he is the number 1 seed into finals. With a crisp new wardrobe, brand new yo-yos, and a past month of experience touring Japan, his dream is so close he can taste it. Stay tuned for the play-by-play of the World Yo-Yo Contest, day 2!
