4/5 BAY The bays and rivers that empty in to them are warming up. What does this mean? it means that they are very ready to come back to life. Already there has been white perch, winter flounder, and a bunch of short stripers being caught. Only a handful of keepers but you never know when that will bust loose. Some places the water temps are in the mid to upper 40s so it is getting warmer pretty quickly. So it is time to get out there. Had reports the Mullica River, the causeway bridges in LBI, Oyster Creek, the Toms River, around the RT 37 bridges, and the sod banks in Barnegat Bay are all producing shorts stripers. The Mullica River and the Toms River has had very good white perch fishing. The Toms River, Oyster Creek. and Shark River have also been producing some catches of winter flounder as well. So it is that time of year again to get off the couch and get fishing.
