4:50 pm Sunday....a dusting of snow has made things slippery here in PI....I was just out hiking and moved my boot back and forth to gauge traction....and it is indeed a bit slippery in the neighborhoods....also just received a report that Rt. 89 in Limestone is slippery. More significant precip will arrive tomorrow morning...starting as snow then mixing with sleet and freezing rain....and, for areaS south of Mars Hill....plain rain. Precip will continue tomorrow night. Plan on slippery travel tomorrow and tomorrow night...Places holding north and west of Portage are likely to remain out of the plain rain zone.....and the Western SJV may remain all snow with up to 3 or 4 inches accumulating by Tuesday a.m. When reporting tomorrows event here on this Page (and thank you in advance for doing so) please remember...SLEET IS THE BB-SIZED PELLETS OF ICE......FREEZING RAIN IS A GLAZE OF ICE.
