4. Agatha Gatter The child witch Agatha Gatter (* 1589, † 17th century) was a victim of witch hunts in Freiburg , where in the years 1599 to 1603 in Freiburg 25 women alleged witches were executed. Agatha gate was the daughter of the laundress Ursula gate from Waldkirch , who was executed in August 1603 as a witch in Freiburg. The mother Ursula had witchcraft under torture confessed and was therefore beheaded before them on the pyre burned. City Archives Freiburg: test order and result After the mother had been executed, their 14-year-old daughter Agatha gate was an interrogation subject. The girl gave the following false statement for the record, presumably to escape the torture.She admitted intercourse with the devil. A legal scholar at the University of Freiburg named Theodore Metzger was asked for an opinion. In the opinion. In the opinion which he read to the council on the 5th November 1603 recommended Metzger to keep Agathe as a prisoner until she is 16. but then, if there is suspicion of witchcraft was continuing to undergo the torture and execute according to the confession. Who has been subjected to torture, had little chance to come out of it alive, so this advice was tantamount to a death sentence. On 17 November 1603 stepped in Johannes Pistorius and explained the Freiburg city council, he wanted to interrogate the girl again. As a doctor and a lawyer he wanted to lead the implausible confession absurdity. Jurors midwives and women should examine the girl on virginity. Three days later, the Council Officer Jacob piping reported earnings. The girl was still a virgin. Since Pistorius on 30 December also can show an unloaded foster family for the child,she never received torture even though the prosecutors wanted it.
