4 DAYS UNTIL THE SUN HARMONIC! Heres todays Q&A! Q: I understand youve taken to playing every instrument on your recordings, how many instruments do you play? Could you list them? A: First, piano and guitar, bass, drums, attempting the cello and trumpet most recently. Then theres all of the sub-categories of those instruments, hand percussion, glockenspiel, organ, melodica, harmonica, whistling, cowbell? Anything I can find lying around my home studio. On some records, Ive found myself playing most or all the instruments, like on Chemistry in 2010, or for the foundations of Love Is Gone Away in 2012. With that album however, I was happy to invite friends of mine to play either a feature or complimentary part on the record, which has made me much more open to collaboration on my recordings than I was in the earlier days. The recording process is what I truly enjoy. Releasing and imposing music on to people is always an aftermath.
