4 DU students suspended for assaulting fellows Four students of Dhaka University (DU) were suspended on Tuesday for different periods of time for launching attacks on senior fellows on July 25. They all are students of Banking Department. Shahriar Kabir was suspended for one year, Mahfujur Rahman and Sajib Hossain for six months each and Tulip Khan for three months. As per the report of a probe committee formed after the incident of attack, DU took the decision. DU acting proctor Amzad Ali said they also served show-cause notices on six other students from the Departments of Marketing and Tourism and Hospitality Management in connection with the attacks. On July 25, three MBA students were injured in an attack by some students of the Banking Department. Following the attacks, the victims lodged a complaint with the authorities concerned, demanding punishment of the culprits. The probe committee published their report on Tuesday morning.
