4. Mormonism- where are the first 12 LDS apostles? Mormonism, as it is called, must stand or fall on the story of JS. He was either a prophet of God, divinely called, properly appointed and commissioned, or he was one of the biggest frauds this world has ever seen. THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND. If JS was a deceiver, who willfully attempted to mislead the people, THEN HE SHOULD BE EXPOSED; HIS CLAIMS SHOULD BE REFUTED, AND HIS DOCTRINES SHOWN TO BE FALSE, for the doctrines of an imposter cannot be made to harmonize in all particulars with divine truth. If his claims and declarations were built upon fraud and deceit there would appear many errors and contradictions, which would be easy to detect (there are and they are). The doctrines of false teachers will not stand the test when tried by the accepted standards of measurement, the scriptures. (10th LDS prophet Joseph Fielding Smiths Doctrines of Salvation (DoS) 1:188). 9. William Smith’s “Blessing” Apparently, all of these Blessings came off the same cheat sheet. One would think that since there are 12 of them their god would have different specific things each would do. Take the New Testament Apostles/writers for examples. Peter preached the Gospel to Jews. Paul preached to the Gentiles (non-Jews). Matthews Gospel- written to the Jewish people to show Jesus is the promised Messiah. Marks Gospel- written to the gentiles and focuses on Jesus as a servant who deals with the physical and spiritual needs of people. Lukes Gospel- Luke was a gentile (and a doctor) and wrote to gentiles. He tells the whole story of Jesus from His birth to the birth of His Church. Luke also wrote the book of ‘Acts’. Johns Gospel- Pointed to who Jesus is (God) rather than what Jesus did. John is very clear that Jesus is God in the flesh. Same God? Not even a chance! William Smiths Blessing He shall be mighty in the hands of God, in bringing about the restoration of Israel. The LDS Church teaches that William, like all the first 12 LDS apostles, will live until Jesus returns. But William wasnt alive in 1948 when Israel was restored to their homeland. If he was, Ive never read anything about him being prominently used by God to restore, or even help, Israel. LDS, help with this. He shall have power to do great things in the name of Jesus. I dont know of anything great this man did- in Jesus name or otherwise. I have never found anything anywhere. Maybe some LDS can help us out with this. Also, William Smith is Joseph Smith’s (the founder and first prophet of the Mormon Church) brother. He turned against the Mormon Church and became an ardent enemy of it. The LDS Church has a doctrine that teaches only Mormons will be saved. But JS issued a revelation/prophecy from his god that William, all 12 of the first LDS apostles, were in the celestial kingdom (Heaven to Mormons) with Jesus. Since 10 of the first 12 LDS apostles turned against JS (HoC 5:412) one wonders how the all-knowing LDS god failed to see that coming when he gave JS that prophecy. This prophecy is recorded in D&C 137. But because the apostles turned on JS and his church later LDS leaders removed much of the prophecy when they put it in their holiest book, the D&C. However, you can find the full prophecy in the LDS Church’s ‘History of the Church’, volume 2, pages 380-382 (HoC 2:380-382) and in old (1919) Doctrine and Covenants Commentary (D&CC) on page 502. He shall be preserved and remain on the earth, until Christ shall come to take his vengeance on the wicked. Since none of these 12 is still with us, I cant help but wonder if they went with Jesus when He came back in the LDS prophecies of Jesus’ return of 1890 or 1891 or sometime between 1832 and 1932. How can “the only true church on earth” from the only all-knowing and all-powerful God give three different ‘prophecies’ for the same, one-time event? And, worse, none of them came true. Living until Jesus returns is the one Blessing all 12 have in common and yet none of these men are anywhere to be found on this earth and Jesus has not returned. So, LDS, where are they? Please, produce a single one of them for us. How about Brigham Young? And, had William lived until Christ returned to take his vengeance on the wicked he would still be alive and he would live through the Rapture and the Tribulation period. No Christian will be left behind when Jesus Raptures His church. All we are left with, then, is that Mormons- by their own words in this Blessing- are not Christians.
