4 Snapshots of a House Above the Shippen St Horseshoe A set of 4 black and white snapshots of a house which appears to be above and just to the south of the Shippen Street horseshoe curve. The Shippen Street horseshoe, a cobbled, double-hairpin road connecting the steep grade change from Shippen Street to Hackensack Plk Road is seen here in the early part of the 20th century. The high road, as most locals call the Hackensack Plank Road, was once a toll road leading from Hoboken to Hackensack. There are two sets of steps here, the first lead from Shippen St to Hackensack Plk Rd, without walking the horseshoe and across Hackensack Plk Rd on the east side of the street is the second set that descend to Park Ave just south of the old Town Hall (VFW building).
