4 days to Christmas?! Something truly magical happens every year: I start my “Almost Christmas Adventscalendar” on the first of December with “24 days to Christmas” and a few days before Christmas (i.e. now) I start counting and it does not really work with the 4days left – something is really suspicious here, some magical force is messing with me. There is a good chance that I actually met the magical force yesterday: we went up to our favorite local ‘Berggasthof’, a romantic little lakeside cabin with the most charming little restaurant and sure enough, when we walked in there was a large table with not one, but eight Santa Clause having lunch (and being in Bavaria, indulging in a beer or two). I am just not sure where the Reindeer were grazing … The magic continued over the course of the day with a walk through the charming village to the local ‘Christkindlmarket’ and sipping Glühwein and Feuerzangenbowle, followed by an ear-warming fire and Raclette ….
