4 weeks from today I will toe the line at the Bear 100 Mile - TopicsExpress

4 weeks from today I will toe the line at the Bear 100 Mile Endurance Run. This challenge introduces twice the distance and twice the elevation of anything I have ever done before. As one who appears to enjoy a little self-sabotage from time to time it seems that I have decided to add a few degrees to the level of difficulty by showing up both overweight and under-trained as well (by about 30 pounds and 500 miles each direction as of today). But this is OK because I have come to realize that the purpose of this run isnt to Buckle or even necessarily to finish (everyone has to DNF at least once right?). The purpose of this run is to push me right up next to something that I havent encountered in previous endurance events before: a breaking point. At that point things should start to get really interesting. My price of admission will be worth it if realitys fabric tears just a little and I get to have a peak through to see whats beneath. At that point, I like to think that I will mutter the last words of Samuel Becketts The Unnamable. You must go on, I cant go on, I will go on.
