4 years ago today.. A warm and humid day.. then all hell broke loose in the afternoon. The St. Louis area was raked with several tornadoes that were spawned from a line of thunderstorms. The worst of the tornadoes struck the Sunset Hills area mid afternoon. The tornado was rated at a high end EF-3. There was one fatality in Fenton as the tornado crossed Hwy 141 near Hwy 30. It is a constant reminder to me and it should be to you that severe weather can happen anytime of the year if the conditions are just right. Myself and my friends at the National Weather Service cannot express enough to make sure that you have a plan in place for severe weather. Make sure you have a weather radio and it is in working condition. You would not live without a smoke detector protecting you.. Why would a weather radio be any different?
