40 Days of Seeking God for Revival: Day 11— Overcoming Fear and Unbelief Mark 9:23 – “Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Philippians 4:6 – “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.” Hebrews 11:6 - “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Unbelief is one of the most damaging sins a believer can commit. It was unbelief that caused the children of Israel to die in the wilderness. Unbelief seriously short circuits God’s power in the believer’s life. Because of unbelief, many believers live in weakness and defeat. Through lack of faith, crucial prayers go unanswered. (Matthew 13:58) In the gospels, Jesus repeatedly emphasized the importance of expectant faith. It shall be unto you “according to your faith” is among Jesus’ most preeminent themes. While it is certainly possible to move into an excessive “name it and claim” emphasis, most believers are settling for much too little. A pattern of worry is not just a weakness; it is a willful sin against God. God promises perfect peace to those who choose to trust rather than fear (Isaiah 26:3). Do you need to confess the sin of unbelief and worry? No matter how long you’ve doubted, God can give you true faith and a supernatural peace. Don’t settle for anything less! God is faithful and worthy of your full trust.
