4000 people Killed in Millitant attacks in 2013, 50 in latest attack. Iraq’s Interior Ministry has said that militants have launched an open war in Iraq and they want to push the Middle Eastern country into chaos. Car bombs, roadside bombs and shootings in Iraq has killed at least 50 people and injured dozens more, according to Iraqi security and hospital sources. All of the deadly incidents occurred on Sunday. The biggest attack took place in the city of Baqubah where a car bomb exploded near a housing complex, killing 11 people and injuring 34. In a separate attack in central Baquba, roadside bombs killed two members of a displaced family. Two separate bombings took place in commercial areas in western and northern Baghdad, killing 12 people and wounding 45. In eastern Baghdad, a bomb attached to a car killed three people and wounded four. On the outskirts of Baghdad, seven people were killed and 30 others injured in two separate blasts in Madaen. Two people were shot dead near their homes in eastern Mosul, 390 kilometers north of Baghdad. Attacks also hit the provinces of Salaheddin and Nineveh in the north of the country. Five people were killed in a car bomb blast in Balad town in Salaheddin, while eight people including five soldiers were killed and more than 100 people were wounded in separate attacks inNineveh. The incidents are the latest in a string of attacks across Iraq that have left more than 4,400 people dead since the beginning of 2013. According to the United Nations, a total of 1,057 Iraqis, including 928 civilians, were killed and another 2,326 were wounded in terrorist attacks throughout the country in July - the deadliest month since 2008.
