409 HUMP On Wednesday went to the 409 Hump, 20 miles off shore, having the opportunity to teach a friend of mine the ropes. Although I couldn’t fish due to my hand, Captain Bill and my friend caught 8 Black Fin Tuna up to 20 lbs and 5 nice dolphins, I did my best driving and a good time was had by all. A couple thoughts on religion: I know so many people who cheat on their wives, cheat in business, are bigots, racists and aren’t good people, they go to church on Sunday to further their business interest in their community and they blame their miscomings on the basis that Jesus will forgive everything. I believe that God judges us on the basis of being the most we can be with what he gave us. That includes being kind, fair, honest, living by a code and by integrity. I believe that you earn luck, earn success and I believe that your faith is as strong as you are as a person. Yes, we all have our weaknesses and we are all sinners but to act any way that you want to and then start quoting that Jesus died for our sins is hypocrisy. What I am talking about is what is wrong with our religion today or perhaps even mankind today. I do know one thing; I am a believer and will pray that everyone has a safe weekend to come. All you Elk hunters and people travelling across the USA in search of white tail deer, wear your safety harness in the tree, may your shot be good and may it grace your table. Tred
