41 days left in 2014. Day 10 of 50 greatest songs in forever. Yeah anyone who knows me saw this one coming. The greatest showman and performer in at least this world. I never made it any kind of secret how big a Manson fan I am. Many artists come along and strike a cord and upset the mainstream. Ozzy. Alice Cooper. Bowie. Manson is definitely on that list and definitely would define the age I grew up in. Brian Warner came about at a time when life in America was changing. The media appointed hero was no longer trusted because underlying circumstances were more accessible than before. The truth was easier to debunk. The people at fault were the ones we grew up to believe in. To question anything was taboo. Mayberry was the norm and expectation. To see that go away meant the death of the future to many. Such youth should not grow up with such misguided heroes to poison their minds. Picket signs went up all over the country to try to strike down Satan and the apocalypse. When all it managed to do was bring more attention to it. Much of Marilyn Mansons success can be traced to the very people protesting and trying to censor him and the music him and his band created. I tell you what it worked for me. And he got the best of everyone. And he was laughing all the way to the bank. That says a lot about any celebrity at any given time ever. Mr. Manson listened to everyone that disagreed with him. He listened to disenchanted lives without saving them. He listened, knowing they could only save themselves. In a realistic world trying to tear him apart he smiled at them and held up a mirror showing them what they wanted to silence. It was never him whether or not they realized. It was and still is a world they wouldnt want to believe in. But has become reality and will continue to evolve. He mourns the loss of yesterdays moralities and mainstays just as much as anybody. He is simply an artist showing the world his observations.
