41 years ago, Dave Stringbean Akeman and his wife, Estelle were murdered. The killers broke into Stringbeans home, and, because they couldnt find any money, listened to the Grand Old Opry on Stringbeans radio so they would know when the couple would be returning. When Stringbean got home and confronted the two intruders, they shot him. Estelle witnessed the murder, screamed, and tried to run away. The killers pursued her into the front yard, and shot her in the back of the head. When Stringbean didnt show up to go fishing the next day, his best friend, Grandpa Jones, went looking for him and discovered the bodies. Two innocent people, who lived frugally and never harmed anyone, lost their lives because they wouldnt give up the money they had earned to two no account losers. One of the killers died in prison. The other one is going to be paroled, probably sometime this week.
