42% of arrestees at the November 4 Cook County Jail intake self-identified as mentally ill IT IS GOD DAMNED TIME THAT WE GIVE MENTAL HEALTH CARE TO PEOPLE INSTEAD OF LOCKING THEM UP. MANY OR MOST DRUG ADDICTS AND DRINKERS DRUG AND DRINK BECAUSE OF CHEMICAL IMBALANCES. WE ALL NEED TO KEEP SEARCHING AND TRYING UNTIL WE FIND THE RIGHT MED THAT MAKES US FEEL GOOD. IT TOOK ME 10 YEARS AND 4-5 DOCTORS UNTIL I FOUND THE RIGHT MED THAT HELPED WITH DEPRESSION AND ENERGY. I ASKED A DOC THAT I LIKED AND TRUSTED AND HE TURNED ME ON TO THE RIGHT DOC. HE LISTENED AND PICKED THE RIGHT MEDICINE ON THE FIRST VISIT AFTER 4-5 OTHER DOCS HAD FAILED. KEEP TRYING BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Our Sheriff can be a dick, but with this move, it looks like he or someone in his office is trying to do the right thing.
