This is not the case. 44 children will be transferred to Nauru as soon as 5pm tonight. This includes 25 Australian born babies, that is babies born in Australian hospitals issued with Australian birth certificates - including baby Ferouz. Baby Ferouz has never been to Nauru - he has spent his entire life in detention in Australia where he recently spent his first birthday. So why is it that Ferouz and 24 other Australian babies must be sent to Nauru as soon as tonight? Simply because, before they were born, their mothers spent a short amount of time on Nauru before they were transferred back to Australia to give birth. For many of these mothers the amount of time they have spent in Nauru was extremely short and they have been back on the Australian mainland for over one year now. So Mr. Morrison, I ask you this. Be true to your promise and allow ALL children currently in immigration detention centres in Australia to be released into the community, as you have stated you will.
