45/46 years ago tonite...I got to see Hendrix for the first...and last time. I had just turned 16...but I had a fair amount of F.E. gigs under my belt by this time...one of the most exciting periods in my life, as far as concerts go. Ive read lots of negative stuff about Band of Gypsys over the years..but I could give 2 shits about it. This band gave me some serious chills that night. I was never a fan of Buddy Miles...Electric Flag left me limp.......but his shit that night was in-the-pocket...and on fire. Awesome experience for me... As a drummer for 40 something years, Ive learned to appreciate ALL styles, and his contribution cant be denied...even if its only for this one brief moment. Happy New Year everyone!
