45 Days of Gratitude to Christmas: Day 34: We are grateful for - TopicsExpress

45 Days of Gratitude to Christmas: Day 34: We are grateful for being able to expand our services to meet greater needs in our public schools and the surrounding community. This past Tuesday (December 9th), Roadrunner worked with New Mexico (NM) Department of Health staff to offer an expanded CHI-MFP (Childhood Hunger Initiative-Mobile Food Pantry) at East San Jose Elementary School in southeast Albuquerque. This represents a new “Feed, Seed, Lead” initiative in which Roadrunner and other community-minded groups “seed partnerships that build self-sufficiency for tomorrow” by meeting real-time food and medical needs. At East San Jose Elementary, we distributed food to 100 households and offered outreach on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) eligibility. Meanwhile, NM Department of Health staff gave out 24 flu vaccinations and nearby Community Dental Services shared outreach on their work. We look forward highly to what 2015 brings for this model of CHI-MFP! Thank you, East San Jose Elementary and NM Department of Health for making all this possible!
