47-year-old Shirley Ratliff has worked at a bagel shop in Raleigh, North Carolina since 2006. She wakes up at five oclock every morning, and has to take THREE buses to get there. A few years ago, she was saving up for a car, but got diagnosed with cervical cancer. So all the money went to treatments. But her customers say she still always had a smile on her face. So for Christmas this year, a customer named David Burton decided to do something nice for her, and BOUGHT her a car from one of his co-workers . . . he paid $1,500 for a 1992 Buick LeSabre with only 88,000 miles on it. Then he told some other customers about it, and they wanted in. So in the end, about 20 people who call themselves the Shirley Fan Club pooled their money to pay for it.
