47th Annual Safety Awards Banquet On Saturday night 200 Daily Express contractors and drivers were recognized for safe driving at the 47th annual Safety Awards Banquet. Contractors Whitey Bingaman, Wayne Graham, Nick Hartman, Jerome Mortimer, Arnie Rosenthal, Greg Ryan and Paul Wickard were inducted into the Daily Million Mile Club for driving accident free for one million miles! A special ceremony was held to recognize a group of 23 contractors who have achieved an exceptional milestone. For the first time at Daily Express, contractors were recognized for TWO MILLION MILES OF ACCIDENT FREE DRIVING! Lenny Yocum, Dick Parsons, Jay Confer, Barry Beale, Bill Ehret, Al Corneby, Earl Clark, Harry Knox, Jack Moore, Ron Martin, KW Lewis, Lynn Daugherty, Larry Hamman, Bill Russell, Elmer Weidman, Andy Seipel, Dave Line, Frank Peacock, George Chilcote, Fran Linnabary, Nehemiah Norris, Brian Carlson and Bob Janicki were all presented solid bronze plaques commemorating their achievement. In addition, Paul Dauk was honored as the Contractor of the Year, and Howard Reynolds was recognized as the Company driver of the Year. Biggest Loser and won the $3,000 cash prize. Company driver Paul Erickson and contractor Jay Confer were the runners-up and each took home a $1,000 cash prize. Contractors Lenny Yocum and Bill Ehret won the drawings for a Caribbean cruise. They will be sailing to a destination of their choice along with a guest. To qualify for the drawing, a contractor or driver must have three or more years of safe driving. Contractor Chad Pfanz won the drawing for the color TV. In order to qualify for this drawing, a contractor or driver must have passed a level I or level II inspection during 2013 without any vehicle or driver violations. This year the banquet had a Mardi gras theme, and contractors Arnie and Carol Kappen won first and second place for the best costume. Contractor Paul Dauk won third place. Following dinner and the awards ceremony, everyone enjoyed some great music played by the band Pentagon. Congratulations to all the winners!
