Today I want to tell you about the wonderful Mira Awad: I have know Mira for several years . Our encounters started around events where she was a guest performer and I had a chance to hear her sing and watch her perform and got very impressed. When I started working on the East Jerusalem West Jerusalem project I found myself writing a song that wanted to be sung with a woman. This was Ramalla - Tel Aviv. I contacted her and sent her a very rough version of the song and she replied with enthusiasm. We first met while she was on a visit in NY and I was there at the same time. She came over and we rehearsed the song a little and it sounded great right form the start. I was thrilled. During the eight days of recording , I invited Mira to come along with her then boyfriend, now husband, Costa. They spent the evening with us and we recorded the song and another one that I had written with the great Said Murad , the Palestinian renowned musician and composer. The second song Key To The memory I asked Mira to write the arabic translation so we can sing in Hebrew, Arabic and English. Magic. youtu.be/_q6GgLJ34Gg
