48hr Crime Update is, in a word, hideous. 2 House Burglaries 1 Burglary from Other Premises 5 Theft from Vehicles 2 Theft of Vehicles House Burglaries 1: Chelford Avenue, Sharples Offender/s entered through UNLOCKED front door and stole handbag from within. There were also car keys in the bag and the vehicle was subsequently stolen. Black Nissan Qashqai Reg: MW62WSK 2: Adrian Road, Crompton Offender/s removed sliding rear door from its frame and entered. Once inside offender/s stole TV, games consoles and game before making off unseen. Burglary Other 1: Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge Offender/s lift shutter than already had a broken lock and used an unknown implement to get through the back door. Offender/s stole two cash boxes. Theft from Vehicles 1: Castlecroft, Harwood Offender/s smashed car window, reached in, and stole a Sat Nav and £300 cash. 2: Norbeck Gardens, Tonge Moor Offender/s caused damage to lock, entered and stole CDs. 3: Blackburn Road, Sharples Offender/s have removed front offside headlight and stolen it, causing damage to the bonnet and bumper in the process. 4: Tetbury Drive, Breightmet Offender/s smashed the car window and stole a rucksack, phone, games, passport and coat from inside before making off. 5: Windemere Street, Crompton Offender/s smashed car window and stole a pair of trousers from within. Theft of Vehicles 1: Crompton Way, Tonge Moor. Driver filled up at the petrol station and whilst going inside to pay, offender/s have entered the UNLOCKED car with the keys STILL IN THE IGNITION and have driven off in the vehicle. The car has since been recovered. 2: Darwen Road, Bromley Cross. Offender/s attempted to steal a vehicle, damaging it in the process. The offender/s then left the vehicle. Im going to do what parents do to their children when they need to hammer a point home... Im not mad, Im just very disappointed that doors are still being left UNLOCKED and Sat Navs are being left in CARS still. We keep warning you these crimes are REAL and they do happen, and they can happen to YOU. As you can see from the above, offenders are even willing to break into your car to steal a pair of PANTS imagine how amazing a Sat Nav would be.
