4th March Back to the Bible daily by disciple John Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. The main difference you will notice between a person doing good works because they think this will save them, and that done by a Christian, is that the unsaved is doing it for himself, and the Christian is doing it to bring glory to God. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. In order that the unsaved know that you are a Christian, you have to tell them or show them, and you will need to come out of your comfort zone. But if you continue to sow seeds about the love of God, and also find ways of being kind and helpful you will be doing a good work. If you are determined to serve God in this way then God will show you the way and provide the opportunities. In our text from Galatians 6:10 the Apostle Paul says we must do good, especially to the household of faith. Although we can all think of our own Church families, I also believe this is referring to all Christians everywhere. Im thinking of many young families with children who never get to evening meetings. Could we older more mature Christians not find ways of baby sitting or arranging a crèche somewhere. Let us remember the kindnesses we show to each other are expressions of love which our Lord Jesus described John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Prayer: Loving Heavenly Father we ask that you will reveal to us the many ways we can do good to others, that your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
