4th Reason why Ugbo deserves our Votes!!! Early Education Plan Friends, we believe that the welfare of the child is paramount. Indeed only policies that are in the best interests of our children are permissible. #CrossRiver State has some of the best educated people in Nigeria. This feat has been sustained in great part to education policies evolved since 1999. Going forward, our guiding strategy for a strengthened Education sector will lay particular emphasis on: Quality, Universal Access & Safety Our Early Education Plan (targeted at children from age 2 - age 9) will be tailored to ensure that: i. Children of school going age are promptly enrolled in schools and are given the special care and protection that they require while enrolled at school. ii. Particular attention is given to the education of the girl child. iii. Children with learning disabilities are treated with the greatest care and attention. No child must be left out. And because children with learning disabilities require special care, treatment and support: Our Early Education Plan will introduce flagship Special Schools in Calabar, Ikom and Ogoja to support and cater for the particular needs of special children, including nutrition, attention and recreation. For boys and girls starting at Secondary School our Early Education Plan will ensure that: i. Their starting choices, preferences (whether for private schools, State schools or Unity schools) are protected and guaranteed. ii. Boarding facilities (including sanitary facilities especially, owing to the threats of Ebola and other communicable diseases) are upgraded. iii. Nutrition standards, learning outcomes (including curricula, extra-curricular, sports and volunteering) are met. iv. Discipline and the routine inspection of schools across the State is enforced; and v. Partner with parents, school authorities, local communities, and security agencies to ensure that all schools in #CrossRiver State are secure at all times. #FidelisUgbo4Governor2015.
