To that effect, we require the service of a graphic design intern to work with the marketing department. Job Purpose The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the design and production of high quality corporate and marketing communications for the company and its clients across digital and traditional media platforms. Duties & Responsibilities This is an internship position that can lead to full-time employment. It is an important role in the Marketing Department expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities listed below alongside any others that may be assigned to them by the Managing Director & CEO: • Use computer software to modify and to generate new images • Create design and sample layouts based on approved concepts/ messages for posters, flyers, banners, brochures, newsletters, websites and other digital, print and electronic publications • Design visually attractive and functional covers for the publications • Study illustrations and photographs to plan presentation of materials, products, or services • Prepare notes and instructions for service providers who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed • Manage and maintain graphic files including artwork and photographs for easy retrieval • Ensure adherence to the branding standards of the company Qualifications & Competencies The holder of this position is expected to have the following competencies: • Diploma or degree in graphic design and/or communication from a recognized institution • Knowledge of different graphic design suites and tools • Possession of a computer with the graphic design suites and tools • Ability to keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and Acrobat • Ability to handle more than one project at a time • Excellent computer skills • Excellent communication skills • High attention to detail • Ability to work under minimal supervision, in a high-pressure environment under strict deadlines and standards Application Procedures Interested and suitably qualified individuals should send their Curriculum Vitaes, Cover Letters and Copies of Academic and Professional Certificates.
