4th Trimester - Babymoon time When in labour you follow your instinct, listening to your body and the same goes for your new born baby. Follow your instinct, soothe them, feed them and react to them not when a book tells you or a well meaning friend or relative. Nature has created us so we can express ourselves when hungry and tired right from birth. We are not supposed to be left to "cry it out" or wait longer for feeds (Your baby teaches your breasts how often and how much milk to make, by making them wait you will affect your supply). We are born with tiny tummies that only hold so much, we need warmth from our parents skin to regulate our heart and temperature and we need to hear our mothers heart knowing they are near. Babies have needs that we instinctively react to. They can tell you all you need to know. Babies know best! This time flies by and times between feeds get longer and sleep times grow too so while it may feel constant to you during those early weeks remember you are giving your baby all they need. Its also a time for you to rest and not overload yourself with things to do and places to go. There is no rush, you have all the time in the world. For now enjoy your little bundle of love, when you think about the incredible journey they took to be in your arms it really is a miracle.
