4th person killed in Shopian a militant: IG Police Friday said they have established the identity of hitherto unidentified person killed in CRPF firing in Gagran Shopian on September 7 and is he Abdullah Haroon, a non-local LeT militant. “We have solid evidence that the slain man is Abdullah Haroon. The evidence had been collected from incident site and his photograph has even been identified by the jailed LeT commander Fahdullah,” Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir, said at a press conference here. “The two others who were accompanying Haroon were not on excursion,” he added. IGP Mir said that shifting of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Gagran Shopian has been started from today. “The government’s decision has been implemented in letter and spirit,” he said. Mir said police have cracked the June 24 Hyderpora convoy attack case and arrested two persons involved in the conspiracy. The IGP said that two persons, Naveed-ul-Islam of Mochua Budgam and Bilal Ahmad Lone of Khan Colony Chanapora, have been arrested in this connection. “They were part of the criminal conspiracy and provided logistic support to the attackers. They accompanied the militants to the spot of the attack,” IGP Mir said. He said the attack was carried out by Irshad Ahmad Ganai alias Abu Abdullah, a resident of Larkipora Tral, and Hamza alias Zeeshan, a non-local militant. “Both the attackers belong to Lashker-e-Toiba and the attack was masterminded by Qasim, a non local militant,” he said adding that the attack was carried on the directions of Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK)-based LeT commander Hanzalla Adnan alias Ahmad Bhai. The senior police officer said that Qasim has shifted from Sopore to south Kashmir in October last year. “Both Qasim and Irshad are on run. We are tracking them and soon they will be taken to task,” he said. Giving details of the arrested persons, IGP Kashmir said that Naveed is running a Madrassa and Bilal has given the militants his personal car for carrying out the attack. IGP Mir said that more arrests are on cards. “We have identified some other people and they too will be dealt according to law,” he said. IGP Mir was flanked during the press conference by IG CRPF, Nilin Prabat, DIG Central Kashmir, Syed Afadul-Mujtaba, SSP Srinagar Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari and SP Budgam Muhammad Irshad.
