5:00 am Farm Report Every once in a while I come up against a problem that I cant quite fix. Sometimes theres a mechanical problem with one of my old trucks. This week, the power steering and starter decided to stop working on one truck and the other just wont start. Other than being really inconvenient, I know Mike can most likely get me going. Im fond of my old GMCs. One has nearly 300,000 miles on it. My neighbor Priscilla, thinks the GMC company should give me a new one for being so loyal. I could never sell it. I do love it, but it has such a distinctive fragrance, it would be hard to find a buyer. But enough about my vehicles, Mike is on it. My most recent problem has to do with my overalls. Well, really my arms. My arms have been so sore I havent been able to straighten the straps on my overalls. I let this problem go on for a little while longer than I should have. I wasnt really sure what I did to bring this on. I called Kristy. Mike fixes my autos Kristy fixes this body. I explained the overall dilemma to her. I hate having to ask for help in this area. Its embarrassing to not get those straps just right. As she poked around in my upper arm, shoulder area, she asked if I just wanted to scream. Almost. What I wanted to know was what was that painful little area called. She said it was the supra spiritus muscle. Otherwise known as the suitcase muscle. The muscle used to drag suitcases from one airport gate to another. I looked up the word supra spiritus last night. In Latin, it means, over a thorn. I understood that. Thats what it felt like when I moved my arm backwards. But suitcase muscle? I dont drag suitcases. So, I asked her about cows. Sometimes I have to pull a cow from one gate to another. Kristys good. She didnt miss a beat. She said cow pulling would count as a really big suitcase. I left relieved that my battery and starter were fine. A little tune-up was all that I needed and with winter on the doorstep, I wont be having to run from gate to gate so often. Ill be back in my overalls in no time. No worries. Im off to the barn. Ill be back later.
