5:30 pm: Pick up atlatl from Pat. 2 practice darts, 2 with hafted obsidian bifaces. 5:35 pm: The weapon is wielded by my scooter passenger as we travel through downtown Reno. 5:40 pm: Throw both practice darts in courtyard of apt., both stick in grass. 5:42 pm: Decision to throw the real spear gently into the grass. 5:43 pm: The spear travels at rocket speed and strikes the metal community mailbox with incredible accuracy, shattering the biface.
