5:48 AM 06.10.13 (Forecaster Darius Mack) |Morning Weather| Good Monday morning everyone, this week is going to start off a little wild, not to mention the slight recovery we are dealing with from the storms that brewed yesterday evening. We anticipate more storms today, and I do suspect these storms appear to be threatening; strong winds and hail have been the whole prospect of yesterday’s storms. Today it seems that we are dealing with almost the same set-up. Here is a look at your forecast: TODAY: More rounds of showers and storms whisk across our region, current radar shows very loud colors indicating stronger and heavier activity towards our west. Until we get the dwindle drag, things should still be active, especially since the gulf moisture has accreted near the Tennessee Valley regions. Things look good perhaps around the 5’0’clock hour, that’s when everyone’s heading home from work, Just in time to relax in better weather. Calmer skies, but still cloudy for the most part. Highs will reach 77 degrees in areas in or near Lexington. TONIGHT: Mainly cloudy skies, still a small chance for an isolated or spotty light shower. Lows will be around 62. TUESDAY: Get out and grill or get to someone who has a grill, and maybe throw in a pool?? It’s going to be nice Tuesday afternoon highs right around 85 degrees, and even I would say great weather for the baseball season, you can watch the Legends game V. Rome, the game starts at 7:05pm so be sure to show up at the Whitaker Bank ballpark for any Legends fans!!! Mostly Sunny skies! Lows will dip into the mid to upper 60s(67). WEEKPLANNER: WEDNESDAY: This is too close to call, but we could beam to 90 degrees Wednesday evening, definitely the best day to hop in the pool. Mainly sunny skies, lows will be around 70 degrees. THURSDAY: 50/50 shot for showers and storms, they will be day driven, meaning the majority of the storms will occur due to the heating of the day, and if the weather is more muggy, you got a chance of seeing some heat-lightening which is basically caused by rising static humid air. Highs will be around 84 degrees. By nightfall partly cloudy skies with lows around 60. FRIDAY: Highs will be around 78 degrees, expect mainly clear skies, this us a great way to usher into the weekend! Overall expect a more hotter and muggier week than last week. * SPECIAL NOTE: The Storm Prediction Center(SPC) has placed a cape over south central Kentucky, that seems to be the hotspot for any severe weather activity happening today. Be safe! And stick with me for more updates throughout the day!
