5 Day Black & White Moving Image Challenge - Day 2 The second - TopicsExpress

5 Day Black & White Moving Image Challenge - Day 2 The second installment in the 5 day B&W challenge for which I have been nominated by Rachel Wei, and which I decided to turn into the B&W Moving Image Challenge, posting a cinemagraph (hopefully) every day. In this one I captured waves crashing on the rocks. I wanted to give it a slow-motion feel, but at the same time create those nice streaks that you get in long exposure images. These two things seem impossible to combine, since one requires capturing the scene at a high frame rate, while the other requires the shutter to be open for a long time. As you can see here I managed to find a way to do it :-) The process? Capture a continuous series of long-ish exposures (each about a second) back to back, using the cameras continuous shooting mode so theres as little of a gap between shots as possible. Then turn those into a very short time lapse, slow it down by a lot, and blend the frames together to bring out the already present streaks in the water. Simple as that! Check back tomorrow for the next cinemagraph. PS: tried uploading to youtube first and then sharing on FB, in the hope that it will dispay in better quality... https://youtube/watch?v=avaMPlokGzY
