5-Day Positivity Challenge - Day 3 Everyday, chronicle 3 things that you are positive about, then nominate someone to continue the challenge. 1. I am a traveller and I have been travelling on my own since 17. Although in recent times many trips are for work, they are still doors to countries I may not have had opportunities to visit. I love the whole process of the journey. Trains are my favourite mode of transport. So I am now planning trips for next year; Japan (Kyoto and Tokyo), Malaysia (Sarawak) and Cambodia (Siem Riep). Also trips to KL to visit relatives friends and the pandas (Fu Wa and Feng Yi) + Taiping to visit an uncle. Hmmm, will need to factor work somewhere into this schedule, hahahaha. And maybe a trip to the Philippines. 2. I am grateful for the rain. Yes, there is a lot of it right now but I am so aware of how dire the lack of it can be as Singapore has to buy its water. I like the sound of the rain, it has always brought feelings of comfort. I love the majesty of thunderstorms. I always liken it to the angels doing housework in Heaven; washing the curtains and their white robes. The thunder is their clothes on spin cycle. When I was really young, I was scared of thunderstorms and my Mum would prepare a small table and stool with my drawing things and put me into the store room when the thunderstorms came. In the same vein, I cried when fire crackers were let off. I grew up in Petaling Jaya so fire crackers were plentiful during Chinese New Year. 3. I love my neighbourhood. I live in a small 2 bedroom government estate which Praise the Lord is fully paid up. It is one of the few low rise with red bricked exteriors. I like that it is located near the city centre (20 min bus ride), it is a vibrant neighbourhood with many small shops such as a cane furniture store, a traditional medicine shop, a laundrette and a fruiterer.
