$5 Friday for Cletus the Callicoon Cat $5 goes a long way when we all come together to chip in. A minimum donation of just $5 can help cover the cost of an MRI, a spinal tap and treatments for Cleatus. Cletus was one of 25 cats and a dog living in a trailer in Callicoon, NY with two 18 year olds. We will be sending out a blog soon about this hoarding situation but to give you a summary of the situation, the owner left and the teens had no money, no food and lived far out in the country with no transportation. The one bedroom trailer was soaked to the studs with urine, the animals were all malnourished, flea infested and anemic. 13 of them needed immediate medical attention. Cletus was one of them. Showing signs of a severe neurological condition we took him to a neurologist who suspected a treatable brain tumor. After an MRI was preformed to confirm this, we were told that it was not a brain tumor but he believes that he may have a brain infection, such as encephalitis. We are now waiting on results from a spinal tap that was done to determine what is wrong. We won’t give up on him and we know none of you will either. Our supporters are the reason why we can do these rescues, why we can provide the best medical attention to our animals.
