5 OCLOCK NEWS BYTE Former LRA Commander Dominique Ongwens trial has kicked off in The Hague at the International Criminal Court. The former rebel commander is standing trial for Crimes against humanity, which include murder, enslavement and inhumane acts of inflicting serious bodily harm to their victims and suffering. The process may take several months depending on the complexity of the case. Ongwen was transferred to ICC on 20th January, 2015 following his arrest. Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova who is handling the case will set the date for confirmation of charges hearing. Ongwen was transferred to the ICC on 20 January 2015, having been surrendered to the International tribunal by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces. …………………………
