Eddie de Jongs book, Time Management for a Productive Life will give readers a simple framework for organizing their time Eddie, a fiction and non-fiction author from South Africa, breaks the subject of time management into easily-digestible steps and ends each chapter with the next actions you should take to implement the ideas he discusses. Specifically, he explains: 1. Timesheets - how to figure out where your time goes 2. What Activities Are Important - categorizing the time that you tracked 3. Organizing Your Day - Deciding what to do with your time 4. Procrastination - How to deal with it 5. Consistency - How it helps get things done 6. Interruptions - How to handle them 7. Summary of previous action steps Much of the content in the book is stuff that I have heard or read elsewhere. What I really like is the way in which Eddie pulled it all together into something that could be quickly read with direct actions that anyone can take today. Many personal development books talk about the main idea in the first 50 pages and then fill the next 150 pages with examples and other information that doesnt extend the idea any further. I appreciate Eddies restraint in putting together a book that gave me enough to get started without going on and on about why I should do it. I know I want to work on time management and the ideas in the book make sense; thats all I need. If you are looking for a place to get some great time management and productivity tips without spending hours and hours reading numerous personal development books, Eddies book, Time Management for a Productive Life, is a great place to go.
