5 Things I never told my Mother when I was little and how they changed my life. 1. Im sorry I played in your makeup without asking. I wanted so much to be like you and look like you. What it taught me: Little girls and women alike are beautiful without makeup, but sometimes its just fun to watch your daughter doll herself up. 2. Im sorry I took your antique postage stamps and used them as stickers. What it taught me: sometimes (in an especially creative girl) that creativity needs an outlet. I strive to find creative outlets for my own daughter... Sometimes it hard. 3. That time (or many times) that I saw someone that you love hurt you. I saw you break down and then I saw you get back up again and carry on with life. What it taught me: There isnt ANYTHING that you and I cant handle together. I tell my son this all the time and when he looks into my eyes, I know he believes. 4. I saw you work in offices and sawmeals...factories and restaurants. What it taught me: Women can do any work. There is no such thing as a mans job or womans job 5. I saw you get up and go, even though you were exhausted. I saw you smile, even though you hurt. I saw you make conversation even when you wanted to run and hide. I saw you face an impossible situation with determination. What it taught me: You are always bigger than your problems. Always. If you have never been graced by the presence of a mother like this. I truly am sympathetic for you. If you have had the pleasure of ever having a Mom like this or even being able to call Theresa Brock Mom then you know the feeling, you know you are loved and you know you have a friend that is worth the world.
