5 Things you need to know this morning General Motors is under fire after a bombshell in the companys ignition switch recall. Emails released by the courts show the automaker knew the switches were faulty two months before telling the federal government. Replacement switches were ordered, but not discussed in either Congressional or GM-funded investigations. GM officials say they have since fixed breakdowns in its safety investigation process. Detroit has the dubious distinction of being the murder capital of America. The FBI reports 316 people were murdered in Detroit last year for a rate of 45 homicides per 100-thousand residents. President Obama is asking the FCC to put the strongest possible rules into place to ensure net neutrality. The President made the request as the FCC is writing new Internet traffic regulations. Net neutrality is a hot topic because it could affect the speed that movies, games and other media are delivered over the Internet. More companies are trying to hire veterans. A recent study by CareerBuilder shows that almost one-third of employers say they are actively recruiting veterans to work for them. Thats up from about 20-percent a year ago.
