5 facts about me via Yna Galano-Lara 1. I cannot sleep without an eye mask. mickey mouse baby pillow squeezed on my neck, Im covered with blanket up until my armpits but definitely, my 2 feet are out! (except when Im alone when my imaginary thoughts of ghosts starts to unfold!) 2. I have a strong palette since I was young and I dont care if I look stupid during my awesomeness moments. My first appreciation of food was when I had a back-door access through 2 swinging doors with circled windows with real chefs in the kitchen and walked in delicatessen indulged my eyes to cold cuts, hams, swiss cheeses, swiss chocolates. I was ask to choose in the menu and that is on the house, so what a kid would choose definitely one that is familiar in a German restaurants menu The Chefs Choice Burger which that time, was bigger than my hands. I sat in the bar stool and swinging my legs while taking the biggets bite in my existence. Then I went home with one huge bag of Gummy Bears and Lindt c/o my Mamas boss. Moms BFF Tita Rose (work reliever) and I were soaked in the rain that day and had to go back to change and wore my colored mint-green trousers. It was one of the best childhood days I had and I was 7 years old. 3. I never missed out on any family event such as christmas, weddings, baptisms, fiesta, election that I was asked to sing with minus-one cassette tape, on top of the table, in the staircase, with a pianist, videoke, with hands clapping to the beat and the best was kapag nag-iinuman ang mga uncles ng fundador or johnnie walker. (Di pa nila peg ang Jack Daniels that time.) 4. The first set of books that I actually read and finished was Harry Potter (my english lit. teachers would kill me for this) and the books were loaned from my church friends when everyone was starting to cast their wizardry spells on me! (I think you know who you are!) 5. My kuya and I spent our money allowances to eat street food: fishballs, squid balls, kikiam, one-day old, betamax, isaw sa suki namin. I started as accomplice then promoted as partners-in-crime Sergeant In Rank. Kuya has his ways to show me whos the boss LOL! (This was in the 1990s, I dont suggest it now as much.) EXTRA: Im an eraserheads fan. I was grade 3. I called Mama at work to buy me eraserheads since her workplace is 10-minute walk to Landmark. I received a callback and Ma said, Im using the cashiers phone anak, sabi ng sales ladies wala silang eraserheads dito sa National Bookstore. LOL! But my Mama was smart enough to find out that it wasnt part of my homework and still came home with it. One day, our househelp (Ana, I remember that name) just took off and never came back with my 1st ever eraserheads album on casette tape! I will never forget.
