5 months ago MJ was condemned to be euthanised. Every vet that looked at him had no cure for his chronic laminitis. He had rotated pedal bones in his two front hooves, both of which eventually penetrated the sole. TEHP gave him a chance and with the correct knowledge and barefoot care he returned to soundness. 2 months into his recovery his owners brother demanded him back to work. He was only partially sound. I pulled the pennies together and purchased him for $100. Through out his rehab I would walk him in the deep sand as he could only handle this surface for many months. Whilst I rehabbed him, I broke him to carriage. Yesterday he passed a soundness check with flying colours. Today he was hitched to the carriage for the first time and made a short trip into Nazlet, I want to thank everyone who supported MJ in the very beginning when there was no hope. With the correct knowledge and a fighting spirit MJ showed us that he was made of the tougher stuff.
