5 months ago yesterday I said goodbye to military duty, AMK9 Academy and Pipers Rescue and hello to retirement in Georgia with my new humans. Our family thanks all the handlers, vets and people involved with getting me safely from Afghanistan to this beautiful life. We are so thankful for the beautiful souls at AMK9 who care so much for these pups. They knew I had renal failure and brought me home. They knew my time was limited and still they found me a family. It took a lot of angels but without AMK9 this would not have happened. It has been 5 months of adventure and getting to know so many beautiful people and pups along the way. Soon I turn 5 years old and am about to celebrate a Christmas made just for and all about me. It is love that drives us to this beauty. Hold someone close, reach out and do something for someone and pay the goodness forward. My vet appointments show my condition is slowly going downhill but I will continue to make this about the joy of each breath we take. The next big blood work is Dec 3rd so we will know more. Dr.Dan & Companion Animal Hospital are so very good to me. And from my heart to yours - hug a veteran and tell them thank you ...
